The instrument is the interface

The compass is not an illustration next to some numbers — it is the screen. The dial stays fixed to the world as you turn; bring the gold marker under the index at the top and you are facing the Kaaba. It pulses when you get there, so you can hold the phone at prayer height without watching the screen.

Honest about north.Mihrab corrects for magnetic declination — more than 20 degrees in parts of the world — and says so plainly when your device cannot supply that correction. A magnetic bearing is never presented as a true one.
Times that match your mosque.Twelve calculation authorities, both Asr conventions and four rules for high latitudes. Set it once and it stays right — with optional alerts scheduled by your phone, so nobody is told when you pray.
